You may recall that in an earlier post, I linked to a Straight Dope article mentioning ball lightning. I stated that I'd have to read some more on it. Little did I know that I'd be reading some more from the same source.

Hmmm. German Bruce Boxleitner Fan site. That reminds me that a lot of the current thought on lightning ball phenomenon is that it is more likely to be aerosolized particles than a plasma formed entity.

As a newbie to the study of ball lightning, or at least the perusal of others' studies of ball lightning, the information you've lead to is spot on.
I hope your near encyclopaedic knowlege of the life and career of Herr Boxleitner was enriched by a visit to Die Webringe as well.
